Management Team: Peter Fursdon - Data Operations Manager

Peter has nearly 20 years experience in the clinical trials industry. Peter has held several Data Operations management positions within large and small CROs both in the UK and Australia.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Market Research from Canterbury University in New Zealand, Peter worked for 10 years as a Market Research Analyst picking up valuable SAS programming and statistical skills.

Peter joined Quintiles UK in 1989 as a statistical programmer later transferring to their Data Management group. During his time at Quintiles UK, Peter held positions of Manager of Database Administration (UK) and later Manager of Data Management reporting to Director of Data Management (Europe).

In 1995 Peter transferred to Sydney to set-up and develop Data Management and Statistical Operations for Quintiles Australia. In 1998, after 9 years with Quintiles, Peter left to become Country Manager for Clintrials Research a large global CRO. In 2002 Peter started the Asian Data Management Operations for an Asian CRO, ProPharma CRO. After only 6 months ProPharma was bought by PPD, and Peter became Head of PPD Asia’s Data Management Office based in Melbourne.

In 2005 Peter joined Trident with the task of starting Data Management and later Statistics where he continues to work on a wide variety of trials and manages a thriving Data Operations department. Peter is one of the most experienced Data Managers in Australia both technically and as a Manager.
